Holly Garon is the assistant vice president of surgical services and is one of the leaders responsible for establishing all perioperative surgical services’ departments within WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.
Prior to joining WVU Medicine in 2015, Garon was the clinical director at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During her time there, she coordinated surgical cases to maximize the efficiency of a high-volume operating room, while continuing to optimize patient care and safety.
Garon gained a vast working knowledge of surgical services during her many years of service with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) health system. At UPMC, she held such positions as nurse educator, orthopaedic nurse specialist, and an operating room nurse, serving in multiple specialties.
She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Carlow University, and a master’s degree in health administration from St. Joseph’s College.
