Christopher Mascio, MD, is executive chair of the WVU Children’s Institute. Dr. Mascio also serves as executive director of the WVU Medicine Children’s Heart Center and division chief for Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery within the WVU Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
Mascio earned his Doctorate in Medicine and completed a surgery residency at Loyola University Chicago. He completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa and a pediatric cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Mascio is board certified in general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and congenital heart surgery.
Previously, he served as co-manager and director of Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Cardiovascular Programs at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
