Martin Weisse, MD, MBA

Associate Chief Medical Officer

A specialist in pediatric infectious diseases, Martin Weisse, MD, MBA, is the associate chief medical officer of WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.

He is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Weisse received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. His residency was at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and infectious diseases training at Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu. He earned his MBA from the University of Dallas College of Business.

His interests include leadership in medicine; healthcare quality and safety; and medical education.

He cares for pediatric patients with any infectious problem and has an interest in travel medicine.

Weisse retired from the US Army in 2018 when he returned to WVU.
