Patrick C. Bonasso II, MD, MBA

Pediatric Trauma Director

Patrick C. Bonasso II, MD, is a pediatric general and thoracic surgeon and the pediatric trauma director at WVU Medicine Children’s.

His expertise includes anorectal disorders, laparoscopic inguinal hernias, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), tumors (lung, chest wall, gastrointestinal, germ cell, kidney, liver, neuroendocrine), necrotizing enterocolitis, neonatal congenital anomalies, pilonidal cysts, thyroglossal cysts, tracheoesophageal fistulas, diseases of small bowel and colon, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, umbilical hernias, and Wilms tumors.

Dr. Bonasso is was born and raised in Fairmont, WV. He completed his medical degree and general surgery residency at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, and completed his pediatric research fellowship and pediatric surgery fellowship at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, AR.

He is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association and the Pediatric Trauma Society.
