Let's help the Children of West Virginia by fundraising together!

WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital funds

WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital Greatest Needs Fund (Fund 2V127)

Your gift to WVU Medicine Children’s helps improve the health of West Virginia children and women through excellence in patient care, research, and education.

Child Life Program (Fund 2V497)

Hospitalization is stressful for young patients and their families. The Child Life Program provides education, recreation, and support to children and families before and during their hospital stay. Their goal is to help children maintain their normal living patterns as much as possible in new and challenging circumstances. A total of $125,000 is needed for the annual operation of the Child Life Program.

Cure Kids Cancer (Fund 2W378)

We are committed to seeing that each child diagnosed with cancer gets every resource available to help him or her fight the illness. This means providing psychological and social support, along with the most advanced medical care. The wonderful Cards of Hope project, which offers greeting cards featuring the artwork of patients and their siblings, has been the main source of funding for this program. To expand the program so that it fully meets the needs of all our young cancer patients, philanthropic gifts are needed.

Compassion, Caring, and Comfort Fund (Fund 2W921)

This fund was established to assist the families of any patient receiving treatment at Children’s with short-term assistance when other appropriate community, state, or national resources are not available or until they can be linked to those resources.

Pediatric Heart Program (Fund 2V959)

Supports clinical care in the WVU Medicine Children’s Heart Center, the state’s only pediatric cardiac surgery program.

Child Safety/Injury Prevention Program (Fund 2W1030)

The Injury Prevention and Safety Program provides childproofing education following a preventable injury and car seat safety education, including car seat inspections and installations. The program provides car seats and other necessary safety items for families in financial or emergency need, including replacement car seats following a car accident and loaner seats for special healthcare needs. Our certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians provide services to patients during hospitalization and to the community by appointment. The Injury Prevention and Safety team is available to participate in community events and educate small groups.
