The new nine-story, 150-bed WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital - opening on September 29 - will provide hope and healing for families across the state and region.
The new WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital is one of just 25 pediatric hospitals in the United States that is attached to a larger academic medical center.
Combining pediatric specialty and high-risk pregnancy services under one roof - the hospital has state-of-the-art neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, including a cardiac intensive care unit and an epilepsy monitoring unit, a pediatric acute care unit, operating rooms, cath lab, imaging services, a pharmacy, a dedicated pediatric emergency department, and more. All of it is designed with the patient experience in mind.
It is a family-centered healing environment that allows pediatric patients to be cared for in a more comfortable, kid-friendly space than a large hospital designed to primarily serve adult patients.
