The Metabolic Disorders Clinic provides care for individuals of all ages with known and suspected metabolic disorders.
These are also known as inborn errors of metabolism.
At WVU Medicine Children’s we provide diagnostic work ups, medications, special diet prescriptions, and long-term follow-up. We will also assist patients who need intravenous infusion or who qualify for certain clinical trials.
Patients are referred to the clinic from their primary care providers under recommendations from the West Virginia Newborn Screening Program, surrounding states’ Newborn Screening Program, or from other providers due to suspected metabolic disorders.
